Preparation of pools maintained during the winter:

We understand that more and more households and communities choose not to empty their pools during the winter to save on water consumption. In this case, it’s crucial to carry out a physical cleaning of the installation and a chemical treatment of the water to ensure its healthiness.

The cleaning of these pools begins by properly removing the cover that covers the entire surface (if available). Next, it’s important to remove any chlorine tablets that may have remained from the treatment applied during the winter. We will use a manual pool cleaner to go over every corner of the pool and use the filter valve in “recirculation” mode. We will also brush the walls with an appropriate brush.

The chemical treatment of the water requires verifying that the pH is between 7.2 and 7.6. Otherwise, it will be necessary to adjust the products to achieve these results. We recommend using a shock treatment or super-chlorination, as well as an anti-algae treatment to prevent their proliferation in the water. The purifier will be running at full capacity in “filtration” mode for 24 hours to ensure the correct state of the water.

Are you unsure how to chemically treat the water? It’s important to know some risks of poor water management, such as an excessive concentration of isocyanuric acid, which can be very harmful in high quantities and may require a complete renewal of the water every 4 to 5 years.

Preparation of empty pools:

If you have decided to empty your pool during the winter or need to renew the water, you can start the thorough cleaning of the bottom and the walls before refilling it. It’s also an excellent opportunity to check that the condition of the entire surface is adequate, replace any missing pieces if it’s tiled, or apply a new coat of paint if that’s its texture.

Once we have filled the pool, it’s time to check and adjust the pH. Then, we will apply the necessary treatments in the same way as explained in the previous case. Now that you know these steps, you are ready to enjoy your pool! Remember that maintenance during the summer is just as important as the initial preparation. Proper pool maintenance will extend its useful life. For this reason, you can choose to leave its maintenance in the best hands.
